In February 2024, I was involved in a short film titled ‘Escape Plan’ written and directed by Aristotelis Oikonomou who personally asked me to join the project as the romantic lead, Lydia. The story captures an unfortunate misunderstanding between two young people at a party. In essence, Mike reads signals from my character that she doesn’t remember sending which results in a very awkward encounter… This role was so much fun to play with the complexity and sincerity involved in playing Lydia.
Similar to ‘Self Portrait’, a film I worked on a few months prior, this was film shot on a 40 year old film camera! We were limited to only 2 or 3 takes on average for each shot but following careful camera rehearsals were able to get the majority of shots in just one take, with a second one occasionally done for safety. This way of filming felt playful an completely natural due to my strong training and background in live theatre and the resulting spontaneity is so much fun!
