End of November 2023, I worked on ‘Chancer’, a short film directed by Archie Burns who approached me with an invite into this project after seeing a previous piece of my work. This psychological drama captures an intense private poker game in which the personal stakes, specifically for my character, are incredibly high.

The story is centered around Toni, the role I played, whose fate hangs in the balance as she puts absolutely everything she has left on the line. At this point in time, every chip Toni gambles represents not just money but the countless personal and emotional sacrifices she thinks she is willing to make, and she is ultimately caught between a confidence that she will emerge victorious and the potential that this game in particular has risked too much… How much can you really trust something that is the very essence of chance and consequence?

It was really fun playing Toni and exploring her determination and vulnerability throughout the game as she realises the gravity of her situation!
